Mr. Fred Havelock has been in the optical industry since 1974, having begun his career at American Optical learning the processes of making eyeglasses.  His expertise encompasses everything there is to know about eyeglasses and contact lenses. When you come to Custom Eyes we will either have the answer to ANY question or will find out the answer for you with regard to anything optical. Whatever product is available to the optical industry is available to our customers. This is one of the advantages of coming to an independent eyeglass store over a chain store. We have our patient’s best interests when filling a prescription and will not let you leave the store with a pair of eyeglasses that do not suit your face and personality.

We often say that we are the "optical store with a conscience" and treat our customers as members of our family, having made many long lasting relationships over the years. We always look for what is the "latest and greatest" in the industry...lenses, contact lenses and frames.

Custom Eyes has something for everyone’s budget. We try to be helpful in allowing our customers to have glasses at affordable prices. We feel that this is imperative as our country's economy recovers. Fred works with his wife of 31 years, Suzie, who has a degree in Vision Care Technology. Suzie and Fred met and married while working at a local optical store and she later worked as an Ophthalmic Technician at the Johns Hopkins Wilmer Eye Institute. Susan has been working at Custom Eyes Optical for the last 11 years.
